Origin and Style: This is Kutani-yaki (Kutani ware), a traditional craft of Ishikawa Prefecture, featuring vibrant overglaze painting using the "Kutani Gosai" (five colors of Kutani: cobalt blue, red, purple, green, and yellow). Design: The tokkuri (sake bottle) is decorated with bird and plant motifs, while the multiple sakazuki (sake cups/ochoko) feature different designs such as birds, pomegranates, and geometric patterns. Artist: The painting on the tokkuri and sakazuki is said to have been created or supervised by Isokichi Asakura (recipient of the Order of Culture), a master of Kutani-yaki, and/or his sons (Yoshinari and Masahiro). Kutani-yaki, Fukako Togama, Isokichi Asakura, Original Design, Production Supervision, Limited Edition, Set of Sake Vessels with the Beauty of Five Colors This item was found at my grandfather's house. Please check the photos. It was opened to take pictures, but it has never been used. As it is a limited edition, why not consider owning one, especially if you are a collector or someone with a discerning taste?
