This is a fan featuring a Hakata Yamakasa design by Isao Nishijima (西島 伊三雄). The dynamic brushwork captures the energy of the festival. This is not an original artwork. The design is beautiful, and the carving on the ribs is also lovely. It was likely purchased about 20 years ago. It is unused and has no noticeable damage, but there is some age-related deterioration of the washi paper. There is a faint stain on one part of the bamboo handle, but it is unclear if it was there from the beginning. The paper stopper and outer bag are damaged. There is no box. He was formerly a member of the Nika Exhibition and later a member of the Japan Advertising Artists Club. Born in Hakata, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
