I made a shoulder tote bag from a half-width obi I found at a recycle shop. I made a mistake when using the iron, so it's a "defective" item. I got it because it seemed sturdy with a single layer and I liked the color. Although it was an old obi, it didn't seem to have any stains, but there were some scuff marks and places where the threads were cut. I used the best parts, but I couldn't get a large enough size, so it has no gusset. Since the obi is a single layer and thick, I overlapped it in the center and sewed it double, connecting them. (3rd photo) No interfacing used. It fits an A4 file, but the magnet won't close. (5th photo) I used the lining of another brown-red tsumugi obi for the lining. Double pockets. Both the front and back are photographed brightly. The front fabric is a bit more pink. It's closer to salmon pink. I used the faux leather and a braided cord tape I had bought in advance for the handles. I was satisfied with the combination, but the iron touched the faux leather and the handles were ruined. I reattached them, but the color of the faux leather transferred to the lining and became stained white. (T_T) That's the part circled in white. I'm selling it as a "defective" item. The lining is the lining of a tsumugi obi that I washed after unraveling it. The half-width obi is old, and since it's a defective item, I've marked it as "slightly damaged or dirty." Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. Also, please forgive any minor imperfections as it is handmade.
