The effect is best seen on French Drop, but basically: "Have the spectator randomly select one card and one clip, and clip the card. Then, tie the clip to the string, and select one spectator. When the spectator and the magician pull the string, the cards other than the spectator's chosen card will flutter down one by one, and finally, the card remaining in the clip will be the spectator's chosen card." Also, because it works even with slight weight differences, anything that can be clipped can be used, and the same effect is possible with things like bagged snacks or bread. I think it's a rare magic trick that can be used from close-up to parlor and allows for interaction with the audience.
