Released in April 1987 (Showa 62), with a standard price of 198,000 yen at the time. A legendary 8mm video deck, known to those in the know. This black-bodied deck embodies the late 80s, a time when Japanese manufacturing was thriving, during the peak of the bubble economy. The EV-S800 was a video deck created with the full force of SONY's capabilities. This unit has been repaired and adjusted for this listing. All functions except analog broadcast reception are working correctly. We have confirmed that recording, playback, and operation of various buttons in SP & LP modes are without issue. Furthermore, this model is still very rare today, as it is capable of digital multi-PCM recording. By dividing the tape into 6 tracks and using them all for digital recording, a 120-minute tape can record 2 hours x 6 tracks = 12 hours in SP mode, and 4 hours x 6 tracks = 24 hours in LP mode! This was a groundbreaking tape media machine that allowed for even more versatile use than DAT, such as air-checking radio broadcasts and editing from CDs (the sound quality is also excellent due to digital recording). Fully functional, repaired EV-S800 units are rarely seen these days. If you've been looking for one, don't miss this chance to GET it! The exterior is generally clean considering its age. If anything, there are a few minor scratches on the top panel that are difficult to capture in photos. The front panel is clean, and all displays are clear. However, there is one point. As shown in image 9, only the "MULTI" indicator for multi-PCM is not displayed, but there are no issues with the multi-recording function. However, since this is a used item that was released over 38 years ago, there may be some scratches that I have overlooked. Also, the degree of the scratches is based on my personal opinion, and it is not in the same condition as a new product, so please consider this before purchasing.
