It was quickly outgrown, so there isn't much soiling from wear. There are a few stains, possibly from storage. I don't think they'll affect wear. There are no drainage holes, but the mesh material means they can be used as water shoes. They're well-made, so I think they can be worn by babies close to the age for their first shoes!
