HOFNER 500/1 VIOLIN BASS (1973-74) All original, with original hard case This is a vintage Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass, estimated to be from 1973-1974. Based on the hardware, switch configuration, pickups, heel shape, and logo specifications, it is believed to be an original specification from the time. ■ Condition Overall, it is in very good condition. ・No damage, modifications, or repairs ・Very little fret wear ・Neck and binding are both very clean ・All electrical components function correctly ・Tuners operate smoothly ・Very minor scratches on the headstock corners ・Lacquer peeling on the top of the body commensurate with age (see photos) All are smooth to the touch and are age-related changes in appearance that do not affect playability or structure. The chrome parts show natural aging, but this does not detract from the overall impression. ■ Playability Professionally set up. New La Bella “Beatle Bass” flatwound strings have been installed.
