(the predecessor of Toshiba) in my possession, NO.98, with a paulownia wood box. [7] Condition: No noticeable scratches or stains are seen, but there are some scuffs and very small scratches on the inkstone surface, etc. (Images 2, 3, 4, 16, 17, 18) [8] Shape: Nichigetsu Suzuri (Sun and Moon Inkstone) ◉ Work This work is approximately 90 years old, based on the paulownia wood box with "Selected by Tokyo Electric Co., Ltd. (the predecessor of Toshiba)" and the fact that another identical work (a lidded inkstone made by Seibo Kitamura) was inscribed with "August 1935." The stone pattern flows beautifully from the left side of the hill to the right. Image 7 shows a light brown stone pattern, not a crack. Furthermore, a light brown stone pattern is visible on the left center of the hill and diagonally from the right side to the lower left, and also on the upper left of the sea, making it a unique piece. (Images 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.) The edge has a width of 12mm, and the inkstone surface has a 22mm width, with a circular indentation of about 3mm in the center, which enhances the dignity of the piece with care. Moreover, the corners of the indentation are finished so sharp that they feel like they could cut the fingertip when touched, clearly indicating the high skill of the inkstone maker. The engraved characters are also unique, confidently and powerfully carved deeply. With a diameter of 15cm and weighing over 1kg, this is a relatively large inkstone that can be fully utilized, so please consider it. ※ As it is a Nichigetsu Suzuri based on a round shape, it is also a favorite of women.
