Her goal is to fill a bottle with "Konpeito," which are lumps of hurt hearts, earned by healing the wounded hearts of humans, in order to go where she wants to go. Along with Ioryogi, a talking stuffed animal who is her chaperone, she tries to heal wounded hearts, but due to her extreme naivete and airheaded personality, she keeps failing and getting scolded by Ioryogi. At such times, she meets Kiyoka Okiura, the director of "Yomogi Nursery School," and Kiyokazu Fujimoto, a nursery teacher, and begins to work there part-time. Initially, she was resentful of Fujimoto, who had a blunt and unfriendly attitude, but as she learns of his hidden kindness, she gradually becomes drawn to him.
