Made of wood and sturdy, so it's safe. The round parts can be easily removed with hex screws and can also be used as a step stool. I bought it for toilet training, but I haven't used it for the past two years, and I've been storing it in the walk-in closet as a step stool. Upon inspection, there were yellow discoloration spots on the back. The most noticeable is on the back of the round parts. These round parts were not used in the toilet, and I stored them in a plastic bag for a while after purchase, so I don't think it's toilet-related dirt. There are multiple similar stains/discolorations on the sides and other areas. I have disinfected it with alcohol, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. There are also some chipped or scratched parts on the wooden parts. Please check the images.
