This is a fukuro obi (formal obi) from Hattori Textiles, a famous Kyoto manufacturer. It features a woven grape pattern on a rose-colored background. The grape leaves are curved in an arabesque pattern, resembling a karakusa (scroll) design. The colors used are minimal, with silver and white woven on the rose-colored base. The large pattern is cute and gorgeous. The obi is moderately soft, very thin, and easy to tie. It has a retro atmosphere. Suitable for formal occasions such as ceremonies and parties.
