(Negotiable) This is a powerful wooden bear carving by Jiro Hikima, also known as Kippo, one of eight sculptors including Shigeyuki Shibazaki, who created unique works known as Yakumo Eight. Created in 1975, this is a very valuable piece from before he established his own workshop, "Kippo no Ie," in Yakumo, Hokkaido. It is a dynamic, approximately 35cm long roaring bear featuring the traditional Yakumo chrysanthemum-shaped hair carving and glass eyes. As it is an old item, please check the condition of the work in the photos. A pamphlet from the Yakumo Town Wooden Bear Museum will be included.
