This is a woven Nagoya obi with a classic all-over pattern. The pattern is called Shokko-mon, which comes from Shokko-nishiki, a brocade that originated in China. It features a repeating pattern of octagons and squares. The material is pure silk. There is a very slight looseness of the thread in the triangular part of the Nagoya obi's otaiko (the part that forms the back of the obi). This does not affect wearability at all. The condition is very good, and it is a beautiful obi.
