OMI Dobro D60S Squareneck, Made in 1977 Purchased new in 1977 at a musical instrument store in Ochanomizu. The signature inside the body indicates a completion date of 12-1-76, but according to overseas information, a serial number ending in 6 suggests the year 1977 (shipping year?). I previously damaged the finish due to carelessness, and after much deliberation, I stripped off all the paint and repainted it. The body and neck are finished with orange water-based stain and nitrocellulose lacquer (sprayed over 15 times). The headstock surface and body binding are white pearl celluloid. The fingerboard was dyed black with hair dye, and the position markers are abalone shell. The metal parts were sanded, coated with Mitzukuron, and then painted with high-durability lacquer. The logo mark peeled off with the paint, so I ordered a replica. The resonator cone has been replaced with a US-made one. The tuning pegs were also broken previously, so I replaced them with generic ones. Therefore, when set upwards, the winding direction is reversed (clockwise). A portion of the soundwell inside the body has been cut out, but I don't think there are any structural problems. Body: Laminated Maple Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Rosewood (dyed black) Bridge: Spider type Saddle: Maple + Ebony Cone: Replaced (US-made) Position Markers: Abalone shell dots Tuners: Open gear 3R+3L (reverse) Nut Width: 47mm (replaced with bone) Scale: 618mm Body Width: 360mm Body Length: 501mm Body Thickness: 77mm~81mm Accessories: Original hard case (no key) : YAMAHA leather strap purchased together : D'addario EJ42 Phosphor Bronze (2 sets) 016, 018, 028, 035, 045, 056 : Dobro T-shirt (L size) unworn, custom-made, not original Although it no longer resembles its original form after nearly 50 years, it sounds great, and the cone, saddle, and nut have also been replaced, so I think you can continue to use it for a long time.
