This is a Kyusu (teapot) and teacups from the "Karan" series, featuring the clear white porcelain characteristic of Fukagawa Seiji, with elegant orchids delicately painted on them. The gentle color tones and understated gold accents create a serene design that adds an elegant atmosphere to your dining table or tea time. This is a piece that highlights Fukagawa Seiji's refined form and smooth texture. It has a very elegant color scheme, and the color and pattern are not often seen. The white base is accented with red, gold, and light blue. I seemed to like it, as I had two different sizes of teacups. There are 4 teacups of each size. The pattern is the same, but the colors of the teacups seem slightly different. Can you tell from the photos? The teacups that match the Kyusu have the same tone and are the larger ones. The smaller ones appear somewhat yellowish (they may be from a different series). They are in beautiful condition with little use. There are no scratches or stains. The gold decoration around the rim of the lid is slightly faded. The inside of the Kyusu and the spout are in clean condition (the cover is discolored). There was no handle, so I will include one that I had at home. Kyusu: 18 x 15 cm Large teacups: 10.5 x 8 cm Small teacups: 9.2 x 8 cm The smaller teacups could also be used as small bowls.
