This is a very rare teapot, likely made by the first generation of Hosho-ji kiln (Toichi), as evidenced by the first generation's seal (see reference image). Hosho-ji ware is still produced in western Tottori and is very familiar and popular among people in the San'in region. Also, as those in the San'in region may know, works by the first generation (Toichi) are extremely rare and valuable, almost legendary. 【Dimensions】 Body diameter: approx. 12.5 cm Height: approx. 21 cm The condition of the piece is unfortunately not very good, as it has been used quite a bit, with burning on the bottom, cracks, and damage to the handle's vine. However, as the image shows, it still makes a statement as a first-generation work if displayed. While works by the second generation are occasionally seen, those by the first generation are almost never seen in the market, making this a very precious and rare piece.
