◎ This is a S. Yairi SYD-50. The serial number is 000915XX, making it an early model. The top is solid wood. The tuners are made by Gotoh (see images). The neck is a diamond volute type and is well-constructed. Both the neck and body are carefully made. The sound, in my subjective opinion, is rich in overtones and the guitar has a good resonance. ◎ Regarding the condition, the top of the body has strum marks on the pickguard and to the left of the soundhole (see images), and a few thin scratches on the lower part of the top (see images). The back of the body has very slight scuffs and scratches (see images). Other than that, there are a few very small scratches and very slight scuffs, but there are no major scratches, cracks, or damage, and the overall impression is clean (see images). The metal parts, including the tuners, are in good condition (see images). The frets show some metal fatigue, dullness, and discoloration (see images). The fingerboard has playing marks and color fading (see images). ◎ The neck has no warping. The string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.3mm on the 6th string (about the thickness of a 1-yen coin with some room to spare) and approximately 2.0mm on the 1st string (about the thickness of a 1-yen coin with a little room to spare). There is no difficulty playing in the current condition, but if it is difficult to play, there is room in the bridge saddle, so it can be adjusted by shaving it down. The frets are worn down to about 2-3/10 (estimated) in some places, with 7-8/10 remaining. The wear is mainly in the shape of the strings. ◎ This is a used item, so there may be points that cannot be fully explained or overlooked regarding the detailed condition and the condition of the scratches.
