Mapputatsu no Fukei (Divided Scenery) – July 20, 2017 By Naoya Hatakeyama Price: ¥4,180 (tax included) This book, published in response to the continued demand after the exhibition "Naoya Hatakeyama Photo Exhibition: Mapputatsu no Fukei," which was held at the Sendai Mediatheque from late 2016 to early 2017 and drew a great deal of attention, explores its record and possibilities from the center of photographs (124 pages) and words (124 pages). The photo section includes works from various series taken over 30 years, such as the early work "Contour Lines," which had been long-awaited for inclusion, and rare works that the artist says might not have been exhibited in this form if not for the Sendai Mediatheque, as well as valuable contact sheets. Furthermore, the groundbreaking composition, which also includes "photographs of the exhibition scenery taken by the artist himself," invites our bodies, which wander through each space of the photographs, back to the question of the origin of the scenery.
