For sale: a Holton B♭ trumpet, model T101B, from my collection. The Holton T101 is said to be a copy of the Bach 37 bell model. The main differences in appearance are the Amado water key and the medal on the brace, making it very similar. (By the way, the Holton T102 is said to be a copy of the 43 bell, and the T103 of the 72 bell.) Bach parts such as the piston cap rubber and felt, and the 3rd valve slide stopper screw can be used as is. The tone is a bit brighter than a Bach. The pistons are made of Monel metal, and the original brass piston guides give the sound cohesion, smooth connections, and a good playing feel, making it very easy to handle. The trumpet for sale is probably from the late 1980s. There are no dents and it is in very good condition. Most of the original lacquer remains. There are lacquer stains on the bell rim and other minor scratches, but considering its age, it is in the category of a beautiful item. I regularly disassembled, cleaned, and maintained it. When the high notes caused the pistons to vibrate slightly, I replaced them with felt from the brand Klang, which resolved the issue. Each slide and piston operates without problems, and it can be used immediately. Around the mid-90s, at DAC in Shin-Okubo, a Bach 37 cost about 150,000 yen, a Holton about 200,000 yen, and a Schilke about 300,000 yen. (I bought a Schilke at that time.) Holton is a brand that Maynard Ferguson also used, so it has a long history and is a very well-made trumpet. It is in a different class than student models like YAMAHA. It can be used for all genres, such as jazz, horn sections, and wind orchestras. Holton trumpets in good condition have become quite rare, so it is recommended for those who are looking for one or for those who are just starting out. Accessories include the original case. A mouthpiece is not included. Some styrofoam is coming out of the mouthpiece holder, so it is currently sealed. Please prepare a separate pouch, etc., for storing the mouthpiece.
