This is a Nagoya obi I received from my aunt. The details are unknown, and while it hasn't been used much, it has been stored for a long time and has creases. I believe it was likely made from kimono fabric and remade into a Nagoya obi. It's a yuzen-patterned obi with a vibrant purple as the main color. The te-saki (hand section) is an open-style construction, not sewn together. The pattern is an "all-over pattern" (zentū-gara), meaning the design runs the entire length of the obi, from the te-saki to the tare-saki (hanging end). Since you wrap the obi around the body twice, the part that goes underneath is hidden, but an all-over pattern is considered a very luxurious obi because the pattern is present even in the hidden areas. However, dyed obis are not used in formal settings, so this is for casual wear only. It's a very華やかな (hanayaka - showy/gorgeous) obi, so I think it would look very elegant and stylish paired with a plain kimono, a kimono with a small komon pattern, or a tsumugi.
