Three soba choko (noodle cups). The "Tsuzumi (drum) Pattern" features a vertical striped background with circular motifs. The center is shaded, and the circles tied with cords represent drums. The inside base has a boat-shaped design, and the inner rim has vertical stripes, making it rare. The "Four-Petal Flower Pattern" depicts petals by placing large dots where lines intersect. It has a "snake-eye" foot, and the inside base features an insect design drawn with a skilled brush. The "Floral Pattern" has six lighthearted flower clusters painted on the rim of the porcelain (photo 1). The morning glory-like petals are shaded, and the veins of the leaves are left white. The inside base is plain. It is thinly made and refined, clearly the work of a skilled artist. It is a rare design with no known similar examples, but unfortunately, it has one hairline crack. Please consider it for display purposes. The character "Haru (spring)" can be seen on the underside of the foot, and it may be the work of the contemporary Kutani ware potter, Haruzo Masaki. If so, it has considerable value even with the damage.
