However, as those who have purchased standard, off-the-shelf models know, many of these are sold without a proper edge for chopping, failing to utilize their full potential. This is especially true of these inexpensive resin-handled axes, which, despite their typical chopping axe shape, often have almost no edge to begin with, making them completely useless as chopping axes.
