This is a large plate made by Mr. Ikuta, featuring a technique called "Shinogi" and a rice bran white glaze. It was made around 1979. I remember being recommended and given this piece by Mr. Ikuta himself. He was a student of Kanjiro Kawai and incorporated the techniques of Shoji Hamada, Munemaro Ishiguro, and Bernard Leach into his own work, leading to his current creations. He also received the Minister of Education Award and contributed to Tamba ware as a folk art artist. I am offering this piece in the hope that someone will appreciate and cherish it! A display stand for viewing is also included.
