Yamaha Long Cornet YCR-334 Used ■ Body Description An Imperial model cornet manufactured from the 1970s to the 80s. A long cornet used in jazz and wind orchestras. This is a model known as the American type. Yamaha wind instruments, a comprehensive musical instrument brand boasting a wide lineup, currently only manufactures short models, and long cornets are no longer produced. Compared to short cornets, which have many bends in the tubing and the soft tone characteristic of cornets, long cornets have fewer bends and allow you to enjoy a tone closer to that of a trumpet. For this reason, they are often used by jazz trumpeters as a secondary instrument, and they are characterized by a different sound character than trumpets.
