This is an antique French wooden box from the 1880s. It has a weathered wooden texture, and the original paint remains, making it a rare find. Judging from the engraved letters, it appears to have belonged to a starch manufacturing company in Valenciennes, a city in northern France. The construction is simple but not overly delicate, and it remains in a condition that is perfectly usable even today. The lid opens and closes with hinges and can be locked with a metal hook attached to the front. The hinges operate smoothly.
