Apply clay water to the mouth and base, and wrap clay around the mouth. 2. Place the shitta on the potter's wheel and secure it with clay. 3. Shape the mouth and create the core. 4. Apply water to the mouth, cover the work, press to adhere, and carve out the foot. The holes in the body of the shitta are for carving inside the foot, and the thickness can be determined by the sound it makes when tapped. These were used in a pottery class.
