This is a kokeshi doll from Yoshii, Fukuoka Prefecture, which is now considered rare. It was made by Akinori Takakura of Chikugo Kogei. I really wanted it when I went to Fukuoka on a business trip several decades ago, and I went to his place at night and persuaded him to sell it to me. I have kept it in its box since I acquired it.
