The overall color is a calm dark brown. It's the type that you put on by sliding the metal hardware. It's easy once you get used to it. The waist is elastic, so it's fine even if your size fluctuates a bit, and it's comfortable to wear. It can be used to cinch the waist with dresses or skirts. The plain, subdued color allows for a wide range of coordination. I've used it a few times, but there are no noticeable scratches or stains.
