It's as shown in the photos. I washed it and stored it with other lunch boxes. I don't remember using it, but perhaps because of the way I stored it, there appears to be a slight stain on the lid. There are no chips or peeling. Personally, I don't mind it and don't think it's noticeable, but please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection. It's very cute, so I hope someone who likes it will use it.
