New, unused, and stored at home, this is a set of four sometsuke (blue and white) plates (everything in the images). Since the printing method (inban) was used from the Meiji era onwards, I can't say for sure, but these were made before or during the Meiji era as high-quality, hand-painted items. The designs are hand-painted by artisans, and each one has subtle differences in the shades of the cobalt blue and the brushstrokes. The red circles in the second image show areas where the clay has been raised to create texture, indicating careful craftsmanship. Although they are new and unused, the quality control standards of the past were different from today's, so there may be imperfections such as warping, iron spots, and minor flaws (see images 6 and 7).
