Made in the Edo period. Parts of the original mounting. A gold-inlaid kozuka (knife handle) and a lacquered saya (scabbard). A genuine Edo period work. Black ro-iro lacquer wakizashi (short sword) saya and gold-inlaid kozuka. It is rare to find the kozuka attached to the saya without any missing parts. This is a genuine work. Although there is some age-related damage to the saya, you can see the techniques of traditional Japanese lacquerers. I think it's a good piece. The kozuka does not have a blade on the cutting edge.
