In fact, the part with the greatest friction resistance in a drum pedal is this spring roller section, and replacing it with a bearing dramatically improves the pedal's movement. However, you might hesitate to spend 7,000 yen (14,000 yen for a twin pedal) on a low-cost pedal to install a Canopus Speed Master Bearing (formerly Speed Star Bearing). So, we created these grooved bearings. They have a simple shape, just the outer ring of an NSK stainless steel bearing with a groove cut into it (*), and because they don't have a heavy bearing holder like the Speed Master Bearing, the inertia is small, and the movement is more agile.
