Because it's nume leather, you can enjoy the way the color changes as you use it. The color appears different from the first image, but it's a color somewhere between the first image and the others. When you open the lid, the color may look faded, but I believe it's been that way from the beginning. In the fourth image, the lid looks gray, but that's a shadow. There is no color fading. I haven't used it at all, so I don't think there are any noticeable scratches, but please check the images. There are no pet or tobacco odors. I'm sorry, but please refrain from price reductions.
