The techniques of the golden age of weaving, the elegant patterns woven with cross-shaped kasuri and tortoise-shell kasuri, and the high-quality silk are rare fabrics that are difficult to obtain nowadays. Shiozawa Tsumugi and Hon-Shiozawa (Shiozawa Omeshi) are designated as traditional crafts of Japan.
