Matsunami was respected by bosses from all over the country as a gambler, and was even allowed to hold a large-scale gambling event called "Ogai," a total boss gambling event in Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture, the sacred ground of the Inabara Kai, the leading yakuza group in the Kanto region.
