He began his path in shibori after meeting Sōetsu Yanagi and participating in the Mingei movement, becoming a leading figure in indigo-dyed shibori in Japan. This is a magnificent work made of cotton fabric and domestically produced natural plant indigo-dyed cloth, giving a strong sense of presence.
