The reason for the defect is: There were traces of the handle being glued together from the time of purchase. The lower part of the handle has no cracks and does not appear to be glued, so I suspect that the upper part, which originally had a crack, was repaired. Of course, the handle is firmly attached, so there is no problem holding it at present. This is a rare design item by Stig Lindberg (1916-1982), who represented Sweden in the 20th century and was also known as the prince of the ceramic world, so it has enough charm as an object.
