It depicts an old pine tree, which is likened to the prosperity of descendants and is considered an auspicious symbol in Japanese culture. Pine branches are used to decorate the New Year's kadomatsu (pine and bamboo decorations at the entrance) and the kamidana (household Shinto altar). Although it is unused, it is an old product. There is some inconspicuous rust due to amateur storage, but this enhances the original quality of the iron kettle. Furthermore, with many overseas products currently in circulation, Japanese-made items, especially those from Haneda, are extremely valuable, as they carry on the techniques that have continued since the Oshu Fujiwara clan era, which flourished approximately 800 years ago.
