1970 Greco Maxon First Generation Vintage Humbucker Pickup This is a humbucker from the earliest Greco (Maxon) guitars, predating the Les Paul Standard copy models (though Custom copies existed). Originally, it was installed in a full-acoustic model (175D type?) sold around that time. The serial number stamped on the back mold cover, which is usually present, was not originally stamped. The DC resistance is exactly 8k ohms, suggesting a humbucking structure. The SG type (SG-300) and Custom type (EG360) sold at the time had pickups described as jazz-rock type, while the 45S and 50N 175 types were advertised as high-sensitivity and having the best frequency response. It's possible this one is slightly higher quality, but they are probably almost the same. The pickup rings (escutcheons) are made of pressed metal, which is unusual. The cable has been extended because it was carelessly cut when removed. It uses high-quality USA cable that can also be used for wireless applications.
