This is a masterpiece album by Joe Burton, famous as a connoisseur's aesthetic pianist. Burton left several albums, but many of them are rather plain and monotonous. This album, however, is the most balanced, with a combination of ballads and up-tempo pieces. With a trio of Pete Compo (b) and Maurice Marks (ds), they perform standard numbers like "Lullaby Of The Leaves" and "It's Easy To Remember," delivering a lively performance. Burton's individuality is particularly evident in his unique touch, which weaves sounds in ballads like "Undecided" and "Pennies From Heaven." US Original Coral Records CRL57098 The coated jacket shows signs of aging, with scratches, a split spine, yellowing, stains, corner wear, and tape repairs. The record has fine scratches (see photos 5-11) and some crackling and popping noises in places. It's not as bad as it looks and should be mostly listenable, but please refrain from purchasing if you are at all concerned. The excellent jacket is filled with a nostalgic mood and is enjoyable to look at. Domestic versions are available, but nothing beats the substantial weight and vintage feel unique to original used records.
