I usually use an Ergobaby carrier, so I only used this during the newborn period. The previous owner used it for a few months. There are some small pills, but there are no major noticeable scratches or stains. You can also use an Ergobaby carrier from the newborn stage, but the side carry is reassuring, so the Koala "mama arm" carry is highly recommended.
