Hand-spun cotton, indigo-dyed, three-width Kaga noren (shop curtain). The era is believed to be Meiji. The design features cranes, turtles, pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms, all dyed using the stencil technique. The cranes are represented by fans, the turtles by tortoiseshell patterns, and the bamboo by bamboo fences. Judging by the indigo color of the stitching, it's evident that it has been used extensively. There are stains, patches, and fraying, but the design is well-executed.
