As a successor to the U.S. military field parka M-51, commonly known as the mod coat, it was adopted in 1965 as a field parka with a detachable hood and liner. WAIPER.inc has faithfully reproduced the popular shell. In recent years, the fishtail parka, with the hood removed and worn as a stand-up collar, has become popular. WAIPER.inc sampled the early model, which used an aluminum zip from before 1971, and reproduced the details of the time, such as the early instruction label marked "ARCTIC" and the fabric liner attachment tabs. The cotton-nylon poplin material, which is rarely distributed in the market today. To reproduce something close to the real thing, we created an original fabric from scratch just for this item. We recreated the silhouette of the real thing, creating a pattern from scratch, and reproduced the three-dimensional arms with tucks.
