I have confirmed that it works, and I have put in new batteries. There are no problems with its use, but there are several large cracks in the paint on the top of the body. These cracks do not reach the wood of the body and do not affect the sound or usability. I do not recommend this item to those who are concerned about its appearance, but it is priced accordingly, so please understand.
