This is a *tsukesage komon* kimono by Atsushi Ogura, the fifth-generation head of the Ogura family, representing Kyoto's dyeing and weaving crafts. The Ogura family is a leading name in Kyoto's dyeing and weaving crafts, with a history of over 130 years. Atsushi Ogura is the son of Kenryo Ogura, known as the master of *tsujigahana* (a type of tie-dyeing). From his 30s, he gained experience by participating in the restoration and repair of dyed and woven cultural properties, including important cultural assets. He exhibits his latest *shibori-zome* (tie-dyeing) works every year at the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, receiving high praise, and is even synonymous with tie-dyeing. He has won numerous awards and was certified as a holder of the Kyoto Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property "Tie-dyeing" in February 2019. He is a dyeing artist with a wide range of knowledge and techniques, from the *shibori-zome* of the Muromachi period to contemporary dyeing works, and can be said to be the only one of his kind in Japan. The kimono features a *bokashi* (gradation) ground with *shibori-zome* and ink *kachin-zome* (a type of resist dyeing) depicting a *tsujigahana* ginkgo leaf pattern. The artist's signature is placed on the *okumi* (front panel) of the kimono. As it does not have a family crest, it can also be worn as a stylish kimono. As it is a perfect kimono for autumn, we hope you will enjoy it with your own *fukuro obi* (formal obi) or *nagoya obi* (casual obi) (^^) ● Japanese Color: A gray color close to *hai-ao* (gray-blue) with a yellow-based *bokashi* ground. ● Size: *Awase* (lined), *hiro-eri* (wide collar) construction Height: 163cm Sleeve-to-sleeve length: 64cm Sleeve length: 47cm Front width: 24cm Back width: 30.5cm Seam allowance for sleeve-to-sleeve length: approx. 4cm on one side Hem allowance: approx. 6cm *Please note that these measurements are approximate due to being taken by an amateur.* ● Material: Both the kimono, lining, and *hakkei* (lining of the skirt) are silk. ● Condition: There are stains on the left *okumi* and the body of the kimono.
