This quilt is old, dating back to the early 1900s, and therefore has some damage. However, due to the passage of many years, and perhaps because it was used regularly, the soft texture is, I believe, a charm unique to antique quilts. Another appeal is that the fabric and stitching on the front and back sides are different, so you can enjoy it in different ways depending on which side you use. I have been doing patchwork for many years, and I am interested in antique quilts, so I have purchased the ones I liked, and this is one of them. I have purchased several, and I actually use some of them regularly, but this one was kept as part of my collection.
