■■■Product Description■■■ 【Reference】 Kogen Gashu (1882-1939) A Tokushima painter of the Meiji-Showa period. Listed in the 1922 (Taisho 11) National Painting Excellent Artists Directory. Born in Kita-Sakura-cho, Tokushima City on October 10, 1882. Real name: Kunita. Art names: Gashu, Chokugan, Fukurokudo Jusanin, etc. From a young age, he loved painting and studied the Shijo school under Toyosu Fukai, and also learned the Kano school from Eicho Kano. Later, he traveled around Kyoto and Osaka for over twenty years to hone his skills. Later, he studied under Gaho Hashimoto and established his own style. He excelled in figure and landscape paintings, as well as paintings of tigers, and his paintings had a sense of humor.
