This is a 1960s Hercules horsehide A-2 flight jacket. The shape is the A-2 flight jacket type. The horsehide type is truly rare, a phantom vintage piece with the Front Quarter designation. Front Quarter refers to the area from the neck to the shoulder, where the fibers are most densely packed. It's known for its strength, firmness, and luster, and the aging process is exceptionally beautiful. The zipper is also quite rare, a SERVAL gold zip. It's a 1960s piece with a Sears tag, from the final generation of the golden age of American horsehide. I don't think you'll see another one with deadstock and the original tags. Moreover, it has a versatile silhouette that can be worn without issue in modern fashion. Military items from this era often have silhouettes that are difficult to wear as fashion, so this one is much cooler to wear. In my personal opinion, you can wear it, but honestly, it's a masterpiece on par with reference materials in books and magazines, so it would be better to keep it as a collection or investment. The number of these is small, so the price will likely increase in the future.
