This lens is a Nikon autofocus lens, with a wide-angle to a relatively easy-to-use telephoto focal length, making it suitable for snapshot photography. Also, since the lens has a built-in motor, it can be used with digital SLR cameras that do not have a built-in motor in the camera body, such as the D40, D60, and D3000 series. There is an issue with the focus. It focuses up close, but the focus doesn't seem to lock in. Sometimes it does focus, but I personally use it with manual focus. As it is an old lens, there is some mold. I'm not quite confident enough to disassemble and repair it, so I've left it as is.
