♦ Wooden Demon (Hannya) Mask ♦ Japanese Vintage Wooden Mask "HANNYA" This is a "Hannya Mask" that was displayed in my parents' home for several decades. My mother loved ornaments for good luck and warding off evil, and she displayed them in each room. However, we are getting rid of them due to closing the family home. I don't know if it's thanks to this mask, but I feel like we were able to live a peaceful daily life without major troubles. There are no signs of damage or dirt. It is in very beautiful condition, but there is one spot that appears to be a "dot"-like scratch (Photo ⑦). It is said that displaying a Hannya mask in the home has meanings such as warding off evil and preventing bad things from entering the house. It is often displayed in the entrance, and there is a custom of giving it as a housewarming gift.
